17th Annual Kent County Safe Summer Day

17th Annual Kent County Safe Summer Day Set for June 13th
SAFE KIDS Delaware among more than 50 participants
 
Camden, DE – Are you looking for a fun, free, family-oriented way to start off your summer?  The Seventeenth (17th) Annual Safe Summer Day is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It will be held at Brecknock Park in Camden, Delaware. This event will bring approximately 50 safety and health professionals together to ensure the community has a great start for the summer season. Many of SAFE KIDS Delaware’s member organizations are participating in this event.
 
Safe Summer Day will feature a variety of interactive displays, a free child safety seat check event, the Dover Air Force Base smoke house, child fingerprinting, demonstrations by the Delaware State Police K-9 unit at 11 and 12:30, and a vehicle extrication demo at 1:00pm.  Vendors will distribute safety and health related information on topics such as water, boating, and pool safety, bicycle and other traffic injury prevention topics, fall prevention, fire safety, asthma, cardiac safety, substance abuse prevention and safety around animals.
 
There will also be a dunking booth, and food vendors present!  At noon, there will be a patriotic presentation to recognize our local military and first responders.
 
Kent County Safe Summer Day is sponsored by Kent County Levy Court through its Department of Parks and Recreation, and planning for the event is supported by the following organizations:  Delaware Office of Highway Safety, Delaware State Fire School, Delaware State Police, Dover A.F.B. 436th AW, Dover A.F.B. 512th CES, Kent County EMS, Kent County Fire Police Association, Kent County Volunteer Firefighter’s Association, and Safe Kids Delaware.
