Registration Open for Safe Kids Childhood Injury Prevention Conference
New location this year and attendees can register online for first time on new SK website
 
Dover – Registration is now open for the Annual Safe Kids Delaware Childhood Injury Prevention Conference.  The conference will be held June 24th, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.  Safe Kids members are excited about two ‘firsts’ for this year’s conference.  The Board has selected a new venue for this year’s event.  It will be held at “The Outlook” at the Duncan Center, 500 Loockerman Street, Dover.  Additionally, with this week’s launch of Safe Kids Delaware’s website, for the first time attendees will be able to register online at www.safekidsde.org and pay by credit card!
 
“We’re excited about the changes to this year’s conference,” said Jennifer McCue, Chair of the Board for Safe Kids Delaware and Injury Prevention Coordinator with Nemours AI DuPont Hospital for Children. “The Duncan Center is a great venue to have our conference, and the ability for our attendees to register and pay online is something they’ve been requesting for quite some time.”
 
The annual conference is geared toward individuals with an interest in childhood injury prevention.  This year’s conference features a wide variety of safety topics.  Breakout sessions include: safety in and around cars, pool safety, sporting event preparedness, healthy homes, responding to suspicions and disclosures of child abuse, and computer information security. 
 
The opening session on Sudden Unexplained Infant Death: From Child Death Review to Action will be presented by Marjorie Hershberger, MS, RN-BC, PPCNP-BC, CPNP of the Delaware Child Death, Near Death, and Stillbirth Commission.
