Safe Kids Delaware is pleased to announce the launch of its first website www.safekidsde.org
! The website provides another tool for the volunteer organization to connect with children and families and educate them about the importance of childhood injury prevention.
“We are extremely excited about the launch of this website,” said Jennifer McCue, Chair of the Safe Kids Board of Directors and Injury Prevention Coordinator at Nemours AI DuPont Hospital for Children. “It has been something we’ve wanted for some time, and having this kind of presence on the web is crucial for organizations like ours. The internet is where most people go to find information and by finally having our own website, this allows us to be a significant local resource for safety information to the people of Delaware.”
Designed by local technology company Delaware 302, the website provides information on Safe Kids Delaware’s major injury prevention focus areas such as fire/burn prevention, child passenger safety, bicycle and pedestrian safety, playground safety, etc., and safety programs such as community car seat checks and bicycle rodeos. It also features a photogallery of pictures from Safe Kids events, an interactive calendar of events, the latest news from Safe Kids Worldwide and the latest news releases from Safe Kids Delaware.
One of the most exciting features of this new website is an online registration and payment system so that individuals can register for major events such as the upcoming Childhood Injury Prevention Conference on June 24th and pay by credit card, as well as a donation system so that the organization can accept donations from individuals and organizations that wish to support our various programs. In the coming weeks, more topic specific safety information will be added and Safe Kids Delaware’s social media feeds will be integrated into the site.
The website joins Safe Kids Delaware’s Twitter account @safekidsde and its facebook account Safe Kids Delaware at www.facebook.com
